PREPARATION FOR DIGITAL FILES

Pegasus Auto Prints

  • Pegasus prints can only be produced from RGB MAC files.
  • Files must be supplied as uncompressed TIF and should not include any extra layers, paths or channels.
  • JPEG’s are also accepted, but changes in colour and quality may occur.
  • Files should be saves to the desired print size at 250 dpi.
  • Multiple prints may be save in the same file ie four 10x8”s on one 16x20” file. This will save you money when compared to individual prices. (Please balance all individual images before combining)
  • Illustrator & Quark files can also be printed but need to be converted to TIF files. To do this save the file as an EPS in the created application, open the EPS file in Photoshop and save the file as an RGB TIF at 250 dpi.
  • You may send files on zip, CDrom and DVD. Please name your file 8 characters or less without any slashes or underscores.

Digital Display Prints

  • As a general rule scans should be approx. 40 Mbytes per square metre of picture area to achieve optimum print quality.
  • All raster images should be saved as RGB uncompressed TIF files with no alpha channels, paths or layers.
  • Duotones and spot colours should be converted to RGB mode.
  • Where possible fonts in EPS documents should be outlined.
  • You can have huge billboards, banners and signs that can join with precision for your display needs.

Film Recording

Text Images (PowerPoint)

  • Page setup. Microsoft PowerPoint has an option to select slide. This is activated by selecting ‘File’ from the main menu, the ‘Slide set up’ and ‘35mm slide’. This option allows us to use the maximum area available.
  • One document with multiple slides is preferable to multiple documents.
  • Limit scans for Microsoft PowerPoint to 2Mb. All scans need to be RGB files, preferably ‘native’ RGB files.
  • Links must be broken from imported graph files.

Slide Images (Photoshop)

  • All raster images must be RGB mode, preferably ‘native’ RGB mode.
  • The image should be as a TIF with no alpha channels or paths.
  • When submitting files, select the landscape orientation.
  • The maximum image size should be limited to 8Mb-10Mb in size.
An ideal formulae is 6x9 inches at 250 dpi.

General Notes

  • If your files are not set to the above guidelines, some delay and additional cost may be incurred as our staff have to adjust your files prior to output.
  • Please supply all printer and screen fonts used in your document.
  • Please supply all placed images necessary for the output of your files.
  • Please do not work right to the edge of the page as the slide mount may crop into the image.
